Gather Ye Rosebuds

Happy Mothering Sunday all. And what a lovely day it is here!

The sun is out, the birds are singing, the trees are blossoming and the first bumble bees of spring are meandering lazily around the garden.

Spring, and with it new hope, has arrived in force. And not a moment too soon. It feels like having the kids at home can be turned from a challenge to an opportunity.
Over the time at school our children change as influences of their friends start to dominate between Monday and Friday. Now, we have the time and space to reconnect. Mother to our beautiful children. Consider it a little reprieve from the gradual lengthening of apron strings. We are going to pull them close and celebrate this moment... As soon enough this will be over, and they will be on their paths again, probably with no second return.

To steal the words of Robert Herrick:

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
   Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
   Tomorrow will be dying
